Overview:

The Spain Digital Nomad Visa is a residence visa and permit designed for non-EU/EEA/Swiss nationals who work remotely for foreign companies or run their own digital businesses. Launched in 2023 as part of the Spanish Startup Law, this visa allows remote workers and freelancers to legally reside in Spain while continuing to work for international clients or employers. It caters to professionals who wish to enjoy the Spanish lifestyle without switching their employment base to Spain.

Spain digital nomad is a 3 years extendable visa for those who are remote working and they can settle anywhere. The Applicant must show that they earn at least around 8500 € per month. (We will be helping them with the documentation)

 

Residency:

 

The residence permit is granted for 3 years, renewable for 2 more years.

Eligible for long-term residency after 5 years of continuous legal stay.

After 10 years, applicants may apply for Spanish citizenship, provided other conditions (language, integration, etc.) are met.

three years initially, and is renewable. After the initial three-year period, the residence permit can be renewed. There is a minimum stay requirement of 183 days per calendar year in Greece for renewal.

  • Initial Visa:2 years if applied through a Spanish consulate; 5 years if applying for a residence permit directly in Spain.
  • Renewal: Renewable for 2-year periods, provided the business remains viable and meets eligibility criteria.
  • Path to Permanent Residency: After 5 years of continuous legal residency, applicants may apply for permanent residency. Citizenship is possible after 10 years (or 2 years for nationals of certain countries, e.g., Latin American countries, Andorra, Philippines, Equatorial Guinea, Portugal, or Sephardic origin).

The Greece Golden Visa program offers a renewable 5-year residency permit to non-EU investors and their families in exchange for a qualifying investment. It’s considered one of the most attractive and affordable residency-by-investment options in Europe.

Investment Options and Thresholds (as of August 2024 changes):

The minimum investment amount varies based on the property’s location, following a three-zone system:

  • €800,000 minimum: For prime locations in Athens (Attica region), Thessaloniki, Mykonos, Santorini, and islands with a population of over 3,100. For these areas, the investment must be in a single property of at least 120 sqm.
  • €400,000 minimum: For regional areas and less densely populated cities and islands.
  • €250,000 minimum: This threshold is maintained for specific conversion projects, such as commercial-to-residential conversions and restoration of listed buildings, regardless of location or size.
  • Other Investment Options (minimums vary, typically starting at €400,000 or €800,000):
    • Lease agreement for hotel accommodation or furnished tourist residences (minimum 10 years).
    • Purchase of Greek government bonds.
    • Purchase of shares or corporate bonds of Greek companies.
    • Investment in investment funds that invest in Greek equities, corporate bonds, or government bonds.
    • New in 2025: Investment of at least €250,000 in Greek startup companies. This aims to attract more “productive investments.”
